Why Your Social Media Matters
Social media is in important part of today's society. In fact, it is the primary way people connect nowadays. Your social media accounts play a crucial role in your career as a real estate agent because it is essentially a virtual edition of your resume. People interested in working with you will likely check your social media before saying "yes". If they see that you are constantly posting, sharing about your job, cheering on others, etc., then they are likely to work with you. They want to see that you are passionate about your job and eager to help families find a place to call home.
What should you be posting?
1. Stories
Use Instagram and Facebook stories to your advantage. When you are out at showings, take boomerangs or snap some photos of the kitchen. Advertise that you are showing homes for sale with features that buyers want such as big windows with natural light, dual vanities in the master bath, a fenced in backyard overlooking the mountains, etc.).
2. Give a glimpse of your real life
People want to see the raw, authentic you. They want to see your home life, your kids, your interaction with friends. When you share little glimpses of your life, potentials can relate to you. They don't want to see this perfect Instagram highlight reel.
3. Share your company graphics with important information
Sharing graphics from your company's page with your own caption shows that you are knowledgeable, prepared, and educated. When you share a graphic about buying a home and your caption provides information about the VA loan with your contact information, people have an easy way to contact you if they are curious. They can clearly see that you know what you're talking about!
4. When your clients close
It's important to share when you have a closing. People want to see that you are truly helping others buy and sell. If they see that you're sharing a video of handing over the keys to a family, they are likely to reach out because they want the same thing. Avoid bragging, but instead, humbly document these special moments because people are watching what you post and they want to be able to trust that you'll help them like you did other families.
Use social media to your advantage. Be you, be open, be focused on your job, and your sure to get some new clients. They can tell a lot about you by what you post and share.
