You may be wondering what an Enneagram is or what your Enneagram type is! An enneagram is a system that explains 9 types of personalities and the motivations, fears and dynamics of each. It is focused on understanding each other, focusing in on core emotions, motivations, and fears. All 9 types of personalities have their own driving force, and it's centered around an emotion. If you aren't sure what Enneagram type you are, you can find out here: https://www.truity.com/test/enneagram-personality-test

For an Enneagram Type 9, or the peacemaker, you've likely come to peace with your orders and the duty station in which you're heading to next. Because you're typically pretty agreeable and open to what comes your way, you were excited to find out where you're PCSing to, even if it wasn't your #1 pick. You want to keep your inner peace, and you'll continue to do so during the entire PCS process because your goal is to avoid conflict.

Your PCS fear: You fear you'll become too needy during this move, and in turn, push away those around you. You cope with this by agreeing to what others say, and you'll do whatever it takes to be included.

Your core motivation: You are motivated by a constant desire for peace and harmony within yourself and your surroundings.

So, how can an Enneagram Type 9 tackle a PCS? By using these 4 tips and the tools attached to this blog, you're sure to have a successful move!

Tip #1: Learn that there can be value in conflict. Expressing yourself during this PCS can be hard, but its will strengthen your relationship with those around you because they will see how you truly feel. Being honest with yourself and those around you is crucial to your mental health.

Tip #2: Don't be afraid to be direct and assertive. If this is intimidating, practice with those around you. There may be times during this PCS when you need to be direct with someone, and it shouldn't scare you. Being direct or assertive doesn't mean you're a bad person.

Tip #3: Express your wants and needs. Don't lose or forget who you are during this PCS because you go along with what everyone else wants. It's only fair that you share what you need or want, as this expands your potential for personal growth.

Tip #4: Don't be afraid of the adventure. Although you value routine, you've tried to come to peace with this move. Once you have accepted the fact that you're relocating, you can begin to get excited about it. There will be chances for adventure wherever you go, and you'll always have the chance to create a new adventure regardless of where you live.

Your PCS Toolkit includes a vision board, installation information tracker and a self-care tracker. It is important for you to not lose yourself during this PCS, so take time to express what you desire and relax, and then you can focus on the details of the move such as the installation information for your next duty station.
