You may be wondering what an Enneagram is or what your Enneagram type is! An enneagram is a system that explains 9 types of personalities and the motivations, fears and dynamics of each. It is focused on understanding each other, focusing in on core emotions, motivations, and fears. All 9 types of personalities have their own driving force, and it's centered around an emotion. If you aren't sure what Enneagram type you are, you can find out here: https://www.truity.com/test/enneagram-personality-test

For an Enneagram Type 7, or an Enthusiast, you've probably been looking forward to this PCS since you got orders! You're likely bored of your current duty station and the idea of a move ignites your fire and you can't wait to get the process started! Your fun and explorative personality has led you to Google-searching all that your new duty station has to offer, and you've already been planning how you want this PCS to go!

Your PCS fear: You're afraid that you're going to get bored and lose interest of moving because the PCS process is taking quite a while, and you getting impatient. You are ready to move and you're afraid that passing time means you'll miss out on the good life at your next duty station.

Your core motivation: Your motivation stems from a desire to never feel bored, sad, or uninspired. You have FOMO, or fear of missing out, so you avoid this by keeping life as busy and fun as possible.

So, how can an Enneagram Type 7 tackle a PCS? By using these 4 tips and the tools attached to this blog, you're sure to have a successful move!

Tip #1: Slow down and take in the experience. Before you know it, you'll be moving into your new home at your new duty station. For the time being, just slow down and relish in the time you have left at your current duty station with your current friends, family and co-workers. Try to be more focused and present in the moment.

Tip #2: Don't hide the pain. Let's face it, there is at least one thing that you're going to miss from the current place you live at. Whether it be the people, a certain restaurant, or your job, you're going to miss something, and as a 7, you should try to remember that there is beauty in the pain of leaving something behind.

Tip #3: Go deep with those you love. Don't be afraid to show your true and authentic self to those you love during this busy time. It's okay to not be okay, and you don't have to constantly be on-the-go to avoid any feelings you may be trying to suppress during this PCS. Let those around you in, they can support you where you may feel a little weak.

Tip #4: Give yourself some time to relax. You will become more in-tune with who you are when you allow yourself time to relax and slow down.

Your PCS Toolkit consists of an Installation Overview Tracker, an Installation Information Sheet, a Travel Planner and a Monthly Planner. These tools will be a great addition to your PCS process because you can begin gathering information on your next duty station, planning your travels, and what you need to do in the months leading up to your PCS.
