You may be wondering what an Enneagram is or what your Enneagram type is! An enneagram is a system that explains 9 types of personalities and the motivations, fears and dynamics of each. It is focused on understanding each other, focusing in on core emotions, motivations, and fears. All 9 types of personalities have their own driving force, and it's centered around an emotion. If you aren't sure what Enneagram type you are, you can find out here: https://www.truity.com/test/enneagram-personality-test

For an Enneagram Type 1, or a perfectionist, you've probably been planning this PCS for a while now! It's likely that you want to plan this PCS on your own because you have high standards and you pay close attention to detail. If you plan it, you can ensure there's no mistakes and everything goes as you planned, right? You're a stickler for rules and you want everyone to be on the same page when it's time to PCS.

Your PCS fear: Your PCS won't go as planned. Something will be flawed and it won't live up to your very high standards, so you become frustrated with the move and are very hard on yourself.

Your core motivation:  You are striving to be seen as good and responsible. You want the best for yourself and others around you, and you believe there is a correct way to do things.

So, how can an Enneagram Type 1 tackle a PCS? By using these 5 tips and the tools attached to this blog, you're sure to have a successful move!

Tip #1: Be kind to yourself. This PCS season is extremely stressful, and there's no need to be so hard on yourself. Ease up your inner critic and remember that it is ok to rely on others for help, even if it seems like a hard thing to do.

Tip #2: Understand that not everyone is where you are. Your family members may not be prepared for this PCS move like you are. Accept them where they are and ask yourself if there's anything you can do to help them become more prepared.

Tip #3: Be open to other's ideas. Your family may have some good ideas for PCSing; ideas that could potentially make your move go smoother or easier. Give it an honest thought before shutting down their ideas. You're allowed to stand strong in your ideas, beliefs, and process, but you could learn something from someone else!

Tip #4: Establish a healthy normal life and PCS life balance. Take some time to focus on your normal life, your family, your pets, and your world around you. You will have time to pack and prepare for the move, but it is important that you balance your time and don't let this PCS consume all your time and energy.

Tip #5: Relax and lighten your mood. You will find personal growth when you learn to not take everything too seriously, and to enjoy the little moments. Laugh at the silliness, smile at your family, and take time to be present in the moment.

Your PCS toolkit consists of a printable PCS Binder Organizer. Print these documents, fill them in, and stay organized during your move!
