How to Get Engagement on Social Media Platforms
As a realtor, it is important to have clean, eye-catching social media platforms that are both professional and inviting. Real estate social media marketing gives not only you, but your brand, exposure and is an effective marketing strategy. You can boost engagement using the right tools, insights and information.
Four Ways to Boost Engagement on Your Platforms:
-Use Polls: Whether it be in your groups, on your wall, or on your stories, providing a chance for people to have input on something makes them feel valued and appreciated. You are giving them an opportunity to provide feedback on specific topics. You can make a simple poll such as: "What type of flooring do you prefer in bedrooms? A. Carpet B. Hardwoods C. Tile D. Other"
-This or That Posts: "This or That" posts are easy to make and can be of pretty much anything. You can use a photo of two houses. Ask your audience this or that and allow them to comment back. By simply creating a "This or That" post, people can comment and you can then engage in conversation. For example, you did a this or that post between two bathrooms. One has only a shower and one has a stand alone tub. Someone comments, "That. Because I love the tub!" You can comment back and say, "Right?! The tub is beautiful and great for taking relaxing baths in!" This simple conversation allowed you to create conversation between you and someone in your audience.
-Ask Questions + Gain Information: One great way to boost engagement is through asking questions. When posting a story on both Facebook and Instagram, you can add a 'question' to your post. Simply ask any question you'd like and there's a spot for your followers to reply back. The response is private, but you can share responses on your story. For example, you could ask the question, "Are you a coffee drinker in the AM?" and people can reply back anything they would like. This lets you relate to someone by creating a commonality between you two.
-Posts Stories: Stories are a very strong way to get engagement on your social media platforms. Here are some story ideas: Homeowners Bingo, PCS Bingo, Fall This or That. These are a template that can be screenshot--they can add their answers, and then repost it on their story and tag you or your page in it.
Real estate social media marketing should not only be professional, but should be inviting and allow engagement. It is a genuine expression of who you are and can lead to a large following if you use it the right way. No matter what you post, remember that engagement allows your audience to connect with you which can increase your leads. Use those polls, make This or That pictures, ask questions, post stories, but most importantly, make it inviting!
