Funny PCS Mistakes We've All Made

Let's admit it, we all have made mistakes during a PCS. Looking back at it, some of this mistakes can be quite funny! You have checklist upon checklist, you feel so organized, you are ready and prepared. All of a sudden something happens last minute and your confidence goes down the drain. We've all been there and we think it deserves a laugh! 

Here are 5 laughable PCS Mistakes we have all made!

1. Thinking we are actually in charge! You checked and rechecked your checklists, you mapped out your moving schedule, things are going smoothly. But wait! Orders changed right after that last moving truck takes your belongings. Now what?!

2. You thought you set aside important documents and valuables! Wait, where did it go?! You spent hours setting out your "do not pack" pile, yet you forgot to label it and the movers packed it anyways! Now those important documents are somewhere on the moving truck. Thankfully, your passports are in your purse locked in your car!

3. Exceeding household goods weight allowance! You spent hours, days even, purging everything in your house. You let go of everything from old Tupperware to your favorite pair of shoes that haven't been worn in months. You're feeling confident that you're way under the weight allowance. Yet, somehow, your goods still exceed the limit and you're stuck wondering how you could get rid of more belongings!

4. Thinking you know everything about your new location based on hearsay from spouse groups on Facebook! You asked one question in a spouse group before moving to that new location and instantly you know everything about the place. You know the best neighborhoods, the best schools, how close the grocery store is, etc. yet when you arrive, nothing is like what the other spouses said. You then hear the "I thought you said this place was suppose to be nice" from your spouse. 

5. You think you packed enough toys to entertain the kids! Let's face it, those car rides or flights are even longer when your kids aren't entertained. You thought you packed everything from toys, to books, to an iPad for your children to stay busy while en route, but boy were you wrong. 10 minutes into the trip and they are already bored. 

We've all been there, and if you haven't, consider yourself lucky! While we may not have thought it was funny when it happened, it definitely is funny looking back. We want to hear some of your laughable PCS mistakes! We are sure there are tons of spouses who have experienced the same thing as you!
