Your spouse comes home from work and begins telling you all about his day, using acronyms and terms that you've never heard of. We've all been there, right?! While acronyms are used to make big concepts easier to communicate and understand, we know it can be confusing, especially during a PCS when tension and stress can be higher.

We decided to make a list of some commonly used PCS acronyms and what they stand for:

PCS- Permanent Change of Station

DITY - Do-It-Yourself

DLA- Dislocation Allowance

PDITY - Partial Do-It-Yourself

SOP - Standard Operating Procedure

CONUS - Continental United States

OCONUS - Outside the Continental United States

CoC- Change of Command 

DEERS - Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System

DFAS - Defense Finance Accounting Services

DMPO - Defense Military Pay Office

DoDEA - Department of Defense Education Activity

DPS - Defense Personal Property System

CoR- Change of Responsibility

EFMP- Exceptional Family Member Program

ETP: Exemption to Policy

GCC - Government Constructed Costs

GTC- Government Travel Card

HHG - Household Goods

MALT - Monetary Allowance in Lieu of Transportation

LES- Leave and Earning Statement

POV - Privately Owned Vehicle

PPM - Personally Procured Moved

PCM- Primary Care Manager

RITA - Relocation Income Tax Allowance

RDD- Required Delivery Date

RoM- Restriction of Movement

TLA - Temporary Lodging Allowance

TLE - Temporary Lodging Expense

TLF- Temporary Living Facility

TO - Transportation Office

UAB - Unaccompanied Baggage
